ROCKY DAWUNI live in Liverpool, England at “Slavery Remembrance Day” August 23!!
Ghana's International Afro Roots Reggae Star will perform for the first time in Liverpool as part of his extensive summer 2010 European tour! Slavery Remembrance Day falls on the anniversary of an uprising of enslaved Africans on the island of Saint Domingue (modern Haiti) on 23 August 1791. The date has been designated by UNESCO as Slavery Remembrance Day, a reminder that enslaved Africans were the main agents of their own liberation.
Each year Liverpool celebrates Slavery Remembrance Day with a series of events. The day commemorates the many lives lost as a result of the transatlantic slave trade, remembers Liverpool's role as the main British slaving port, and also celebrates the survival and development of African and Caribbean cultures.

Rocky Dawuni performs LIVE a the The Limetree Festival on August 29!! Limetree is a 3 day music & arts festival set amongst the beautiful surroundings of Limetree Farm nature reserve at Grewelthorpe near Ripon.
We have created a new annual event that focuses on returning to how festivals used to be before they became these big corporate enterprises that they are today. With so few festivals in the north and those that there are, tend to be highly commercial and expensive. We want to offer people something different.Last year’s event was a great success and earned a nomination for best new festival at the UK Festival Awards 2008.

Since the Levitt Pavilion opened in 2007, over 85,000 have gathered in MacArthur Park to picnic on the grassy lawn and enjoy music under the stars. The open lawn forms a natural amphitheater with an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic dinners, family and friends.
